
A police patrol noticed a suspicious individual. When the man saw the police, he tried to get away from them. Before he could flee, however, the officers pulled him aside for a check. During the check, they noticed that the man was visibly trying to swallow something. The officers presumed that the suspect probably swallowed illicit substances just before the check. The suspect was asked to accompany the officers to the police station, where the latter contacted the public prosecutor’s office.
A medical examination later revealed that there were indeed 25 foreign bodies in the man’s stomach. The man was arrested on the orders of the public prosecutor’s office and was presented to an examining magistrate on Saturday.
On Friday morning, a man tried to shoplift in a store in Ettelbruck, specifically in Grand-Rue. When a staff member noticed the shoplifting attempt, she closed the shop entrance to confront the culprit. The latter became violent and smashed the door in to escape. However, the shoplifter did not get very far, as the police managed to arrest him in front of the shop, despite fierce resistance from the culprit. The man was presented to an examining magistrate on Saturday.
Two burglaries have been reported in the Hamm neighbourhood of Luxembourg City and in Dudelange respectively. The police have launched investigations in both cases.
Shortly after 2am on Saturday morning, a police patrol pulled over a motorist for speeding in Luxembourg City. A breathalyser test came back positive, and the driving licence was withdrawn.
Two other motorists also lost their driving licences in Mamer and Luxembourg City respectively.
