The incident occurred on 28 January earlier this year. This Monday, police released a picture of the alleged perpetrator.
According to the police, the suspect got on bus line 175 (Mondorf-Luxembourg City) at 6.45am. He reportedly sat down next to the young victim and touched private parts.
The incident qualifies as indecent assault ("attentat à la pudeur") under Luxembourg law and is punishable by a prison sentence of up to 5 years if the victim is under 16, and up to 10 years if the victim is younger than 11 years.
Police have identified the suspect.
