
Police responded to an incident on Rue de l'Église in Hautcharage at around 10am on Tuesday, where two men became involved in a dispute. During the confrontation, one of the men struck the other on the shin with a piece of wood, resulting in injuries.
The injured man was taken to hospital for a check-up, while the other was escorted to the police station for further questioning.
In a separate incident on Tuesday, police attended a theft on Place du Théâtre in Luxembourg City. Witnesses reported seeing a suspect steal a shoulder bag from a parked delivery van.
After alerting the van's driver, the witnesses saw the driver confront the alleged thief and notify the police. The stolen bag was recovered and returned to its owner, and the suspect was taken to the police station.
Later that evening, at around 9pm, police officers spotted a car parked on the pavement behind a bus stop on Route de Luxembourg in Bettembourg.
Upon inspection, they found that the driver was under the influence of alcohol, a fact confirmed by a subsequent breathalyser test.
Additionally, the motorist did not have valid documents for the vehicle. The driver’s licence was confiscated.
