A fight involving two male individuals broke out on Rue de Hollerich in Luxembourg City at 1am on Wednesday. According to the police report, the brawl eventually moved to Rue de la Vallée and resulted in one of the men falling from a bridge, although it is unclear at this stage whether he was pushed or not.
The victim sustained severe injuries in the fall and was later recovered from the Pétrusse river. Officers tried to reanimate the man, but he succumbed to his wounds at the scene.
The prosecutor’s office has ordered an investigation and the arrest of one suspect, who will face an examining magistrate on Wednesday afternoon.
