The man was first reported to Differdange police at 7.30pm on Friday.

A woman had heard a sound in her house and then noticed that a window in the front door had been broken. The culprit was still sitting in front of the door, but then made a quick run for it.

A police patrol managed to catch the man. He had been drinking and made a statement saying that he had already settled the debt. Allegedly, he had put money into the woman's postbox.

The police let the man go, but advised him to go home. In the meantime, the officers returned to talk to the woman, but were called away to an incident at a petrol station.

The same man as before had now gone on a rampage at the petrol station. He was taken to the police station and got to sleep off his intoxication there rather than at home.
