A necklace snatched in broad daylight and two residential break-ins kept police busy on Wednesday, as theft and burglary cases were reported across the Grand Duchy

A man was arrested in the capital after stealing a necklace from a passerby on Rue du Fort Wallis on Wednesday afternoon. The thief distracted his victim and snatched the necklace, but was caught shortly afterwards and brought before a magistrate on Thursday.

In Moutfort, thieves broke into a house on Route de Remich, searching multiple rooms for valuables.

Another break-in was reported in Bettembourg on Wednesday evening, after an intruder gained access to a residence on Rue John Fitzgerald through a window. Investigations have been launched into both incidents.
