The victim was approached by a man in the Gare district of Luxembourg City on Wednesday 30 July, where he asked her for spare change, and became aggressive when she refused.
The perpetrator snatched the woman’s handbag and fled, leaving her with injuries in the process. Police launched an immediate manhunt in the area.
The suspect was located shortly after and arrested. At the request of the public prosecutor’s office, he was presented before a judge on Wednesday afternoon.
An investigation has been launched to determine the circumstances around the attack.
