The police bulletin published on Saturday afternoon suggests that a patrol had identified a suspicious vehicle bearing a Belgian number plate. The officers pursued the car, which ultimately crashed between Bridel and Steinsel. The occupants fled on foot, and with the assistance of the police helicopter and a search dog, three individuals were eventually located. It was revealed that the driver was a minor, and further investigation unveiled that the vehicle was uninsured as well as unregistered, leading to its seizure by order of the public prosecutor’s office.

Simultaneously, alcohol checks were conducted on Friday evening and early Saturday morning by the police, following orders from the public prosecutor’s office. A total of 872 drivers were stopped in the central and eastern regions of Luxembourg. Out of these, 28 individuals tested positive for alcohol consumption, resulting in the confiscation of driving licences in four instances. Additionally, two drivers were unable to provide a valid technical inspection certificate.

In separate incidents on early Saturday morning in Hamm, Luxembourg City, and Esch-sur-Alzette, four more drivers had their licences revoked due to excessive alcohol consumption.
