The 14th edition of the AutoOccasiounsfestival, Luxembourg's used-car festival, is taking place from 1 to 13 June, with around 50 dealerships across Luxembourg taking part. In a press release, the Federation of Automobile and Mobility Distributors (FEDAMO) describes the event as an important date for the sector, as demand for used cars continues to grow.
According to figures from the National Society of Automobile Traffic (SNCA), 62,017 used cars were registered in Luxembourg in 2025, an increase of 2,676 vehicles, or 4.5%, compared with the previous year. FEDAMO says the figures confirm that used-car registrations continue to far exceed new-car registrations in Luxembourg, reflecting sustained demand among buyers.
The federation also points to the relatively young age and high quality of many used cars on the Luxembourg market. According to FEDAMO, many vehicles are only a few years old, have low mileage, and often come with modern technology and comfort features. Cars sold by professional dealers are also subject to checks and quality standards linked to the respective manufacturers.
Buyers can choose between petrol and diesel models, hybrids, and a growing number of electric vehicles. FEDAMO notes that electric used cars may be of interest to some customers given current fuel prices, especially as a €1,500 purchase premium is available for electric cars aged three years or more.
The federation also highlights warranties as one of the advantages of buying through professional dealers. Used cars sold by FEDAMO members come with a minimum 12-month warranty, depending on the applicable conditions, while many brands offer cover of up to 24 months or more.
