
In February, 15,500 individuals were registered as job seekers.
Whilst this marks a 351 increase compared to January, the statistics reveal a drop of 1,130 compared to February 2018.
Compared to the previous year, the unemployment rate has fallen by 6.8% and remains at 5.2%.
According to the National Employment Agency, older job seekers have above all profited in gaining employment: unemployment against job seekers aged 45 and above has fallen by 8.5%.
Low-skilled workers also benefited from the employment market in February 2019, as this demographic has seen a 10.4% fall in unemployment.
By the end of February, 4,307 individuals were registered for employment initiatives, 42 fewer than last February.
During February 2019, employers notified the ADEM of 3,236 available job roles, which is an increase of 115 compared to this time last year.

The majority of jobs on offer in February were sales roles (clothing and accessories), IT services, restaurant jobs, and accounting roles.
