The floods left a substantial amount of damage and severely affected the summer 2018 tourist season.

Nine months later, the last repair works are taking place ahead of the 2019 tourist season due to start in the Easter break.

There are a total of 143 walking trails in Mullerthal. Around a third of those were damaged or closed to the public in the immediate aftermath of the floods. Of all those trails, only five areas remain closed with detours outlined on signs.
