Luxembourg will inaugurate its first National Centre for Victims of Violence (CNVV) on Tuesday, offering comprehensive services to adults and minors affected by violence.
Located in Val Ste Croix, Luxembourg City, the CNVV provides integrated medical, psychosocial, legal, and police support. The goal is to bring services to victims, rather than requiring them to navigate multiple agencies, explained Minister for Gender Equality and Diversity Yuriko Backes, during Monday’s inauguration event.
Initially operating with weekend daytime hours and weekday evenings, the centre plans eventual 24/7 availability. Seven staff members are currently employed, though Backes noted at least double that number will be required for round-the-clock operations.
