
The written final exams for classical and general secondary education begin on Monday, 18 May.
A total of 3,957 candidates are registered for the summer 2026 session of the final secondary school exams, according to the Ministry of Education. Of these, 2,224 are young women, representing 56.2%, and 1,733 are young men, representing 43.8%.
In general secondary education, 2,207 pupils are registered for the exams, including 1,254 young women and 953 young men. In classical secondary education, 1,750 pupils are registered, including 970 young women and 780 young men.
The total also includes 10 candidates, four women and six men, who completed their final year through evening classes.
In all, 1,674 members of 272 examination boards will assess the written, oral, and practical exams.
Minister of Education Claude Meisch wished all candidates every success in the exams, which will conclude their secondary school studies and open the way to higher education or working life.
