The US Embassy in Luxembourg has opened applications for the Benjamin Franklin Transatlantic Fellowship (BFTF), a prestigious summer exchange programme in the United States. The four-week fellowship offers secondary school students the chance to explore US foreign policy, democracy, and civil society through an intensive academic curriculum.
Designed for students aged 16 to 18, the programme includes lectures, seminars, and workshops aimed at developing leadership skills and fostering international collaboration. Participants will engage with peers from both Europe and the United States, strengthening transatlantic connections and promoting global cooperation.
The US State Department, Bureau of Cultural and Educational Affairs, and the US Embassy in Luxembourg will cover all programme costs, including visa fees, travel, lodging, educational materials, local transport, and insurance. The selected participant will travel on a J-1 visa and must meet all travel requirements at the time of departure.
Named after Benjamin Franklin, the fellowship reflects his legacy of diplomacy and cross-cultural exchange. The US Embassy will nominate one student from Luxembourg for the 2025 edition of the programme.
Applications are open until 3 February. Click here for more details on the programme and desired candidate profile.
