Global traditionLuxembourg scouts celebrate 'Thinking Day' with focus on sustainability

RTL Today
As scouts globally marked "Thinking Day", Luxembourg's Guides and Scouts gathered in Bettembourg for a day of activities focused on fun, camaraderie, and the theme of "saving resources".

On Saturday, scouts around the world, including in Luxembourg, mark “Thinking Day”, an annual event commemorating the founder of the scouting movement, Robert Baden-Powell.

For the 2025 edition, approximately 800 members of Luxembourg’s Guides and Scouts (LGS) gathered in Bettembourg to celebrate the occasion. While the day officially honours Baden-Powell, Cathy Weber of the LGS explained to our colleagues from RTL Télé that the association primarily uses it as an opportunity to bring members together for a day of shared activities and camaraderie.

Children and adolescents aged 6 to 14 participated in 14 different activities, offering a mix of creative and physical tasks. This year’s theme, “saving resources”, reflects the LGS’ commitment to promoting sustainability and transmitting important values to the younger generation.
