The administration of the Lycée Robert Schuman has issued a warning to parents regarding acts of vandalism in school toilets, stressing that such behaviour is a serious offence that could lead to expulsion.
This message comes amid a troubling trend being reported in secondary schools nationwide. Students are allegedly vandalising school toilets, sharing images of the damage on social media, and challenging peers at other schools to outdo them. Incidents include leaving excrement on floors, damaging or smearing doors, and dyeing and flinging toilet paper against walls and ceilings.
In a letter to parents reviewed by RTL, the school’s headmistress emphasised that these are not minor misdeeds. Students identified as responsible could face a formal hearing before the disciplinary board or even be expelled. Parents are urged to reinforce this message at home, while the school will also address students directly. Officials are appealing for witness statements from within the school community to help identify those involved.
