In the past few hours, the police have responded to approximately 40 calls related to nighttime disturbances, noise complaints, and public order issues, according to the latest police bulletin.
In the majority of cases, responding officers were able to resolve the disturbances on-site, or upon arrival, found no evidence of ongoing disturbances. However, some incidents required further intervention.
On the afternoon of 25 December, an intoxicated individual caused a disturbance by harassing fellow customers at a hostel on Boulevard John F. Kennedy in Esch-sur-Alzette. Responding to the call, a police patrol located the individual, who posed a threat to public order and safety. Consequently, the individual was placed in police custody to sober up and prevent further risk.
On the night of 25 to 26 December, another incident involved an inebriated individual causing a disturbance in a Kirchberg car park, harassing passers-by. A police patrol located the individual and, due to concerns for their safety and the safety of others, decided to take them into custody for sobering up.
In a separate incident in Bettembourg on Monday night, the police apprehended a drink driver in the ‘Wolser’ industrial zone. Following a breathalyser test, the officers revoked the individual’s driving licence.
