Approximately 30% of recorded offences involved non-violent crimes, primarily theft of property.

Overall, crimes that “trigger a feeling of insecurity” among the population, such as burglaries and robberies, have decreased, according to Pascal Peters, Central Director of the Administrative Police and future Director General of the Police.

However, there has been a noticeable rise in cybercrimes, particularly fraud. While residential burglaries have become less frequent, the number of burglaries targeting shops, businesses, and construction sites has increased.
