A 16-year-old driver led police on a high-speed chase across multiple Luxembourg municipalities on Friday afternoon, prompting a large-scale response involving patrol units and a helicopter.

On Friday afternoon, police pursued an SUV driving at high speed through several Luxembourg communes, including Mersch, Larochette, Heffingen, and Berdorf.

The operation involved multiple patrol units and the police helicopter after authorities received reports of a minor behind the wheel.

The fleeing vehicle, which was driving dangerously, was eventually stopped in Berdorf. The driver, identified as a 16-year-old, was apprehended without further incident.

Following the chase, the competent juvenile judge ordered the youth to be placed in the Security Unit (UNISEC) of the State Socio-Educational Centre (CSEE).

No injuries were reported during the pursuit, and only minor material damage was recorded.
