According to data shared by the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD), Luxembourg was the ninth most educated country in the world in 2017, surpassing the OECD average.

The OECD’s data set detailed that 51.4% of Luxembourg’s population between the ages of 25 and 34 proceed on to third-level education, defined as having received the highest level of education such as advanced research or high skill professions.

The data also showed that both Ireland and the United Kingdom surpass the Grand Duchy.

The country with the highest percentage in the same age range was South Korea, corresponding to 69.8% of the population.

In Luxembourg, 47.4% of the male population and 55.3% of the female population go on to third-stage education, compared to 65.1% of men and 74.9% of women in South Korea.
