One lucky winner in Luxembourg took home a tidy sum of €1 million after Tuesday’s lottery, according to a statement from the ‘Loterie Nationale': “It is with great joy that we announce that a player in Luxembourg has won the million-euro special jackpot promotion.”
In the press statement, the lottery further underlines that all of the funds generated through its prize games are used to finance social, cultural, environmental, and sports projects in Luxembourg. This is done through the ‘Œuvre Nationale de Secours Grande-Duchesse Charlotte’, a public institution to promote philanthropy.
Since 1945, the National Lottery has generated around €543 million in profits, which are distributed to the Œuvre for its philanthropic missions.
