In response to recent military strikes involving Iran and heightened regional instability, Luxembourg’s Foreign Ministry has strongly advised against travel to the Middle East, including the Gulf states.
Luxembourg’s authorities are in constant contact with their European partners. Luxembourg residents abroad are being urged by the Foreign Ministry to follow the instructions of local authorities and to register on the website guichet.lu/lama. Minister of Foreign Affairs Xavier Bettel stressed that registering there is essential, as it greatly assists the authorities in organising support if needed.

In an interview with RTL, Bettel also addressed the cancellation of numerous flights in the region and the closure of airspace.
According to Bettel, between 150 and 160 people are currently in the affected areas after travelling there with Luxair and are due to return. The authorities are now working together with the airline to bring those passengers back to Luxembourg as quickly as possible.
