According to the latest report from Meteolux, the weekend will begin with plenty of sunshine. “Apart from a few isolated patches of mist or fog around dawn, the day will see few clouds,” the forecast states. Temperatures are expected to range between 29 and 31°C, making for a fine and warm day.

However, Meteolux has warned that “severe thunderstorms” may develop later in the day, potentially bringing intense rain, hail, and strong winds. This forecast aligns with warnings in neighbouring countries, where Météo France has placed four border departments under yellow alert for thunderstorms.

Given these conditions, it is likely that Meteolux will issue a yellow alert for Luxembourg as well. A yellow alert serves as a precautionary measure, advising residents to stay cautious.

“Be mindful if you are engaging in activities sensitive to weather risks, or if you are near watercourses. Some weather phenomena are forecast that are common in the region but may be locally dangerous,” the official description of a yellow alert advises.

Residents are encouraged to monitor weather updates from both Luxembourg and French stations to stay informed about any changes to the alert status. The weather is expected to improve by Sunday afternoon, with temperatures predicted to rise throughout the coming week.
