The Luxembourg Army has unveiled its first major firearms upgrade in nearly three decades, acquiring modern HK416 assault rifles from German manufacturer Heckler & Koch.
The €10 million order includes approximately 1,350 units across multiple variants, aligning Luxembourg’s infantry weapons with those used by French and German forces.
The new rifles made their debut during Singaporean President Tharman Shanmugaratnam’s state visit to Luxembourg, which continues through Friday.
