The Luxembourg Army is set to receive a new chief, with the official handover of staff responsibilities, or "remise de la fonction d’état major" ceremony scheduled for 1.30pm on Monday in Mersch.
The event will see General Steve Thull hand over command to Colonel Claude Robinet, as Thull heads into retirement.
The military ceremony, attended by both political and military authorities, will formalise the change in leadership at the top of the Army. The handover will officially take effect on 1 October. Members of the public are also invited to attend the event.
The Mersch municipality is urging visitors to use public transport, as several car parks will be closed for the occasion.
