Joe Schroeder, spokesman for the airline, told RTL 5Minutes that flights to Portugal in the last week had been almost full.

He expressed his surprise that planes bound for Hamburg and Munich had been two-thirds full, with more passengers on flights to Stockholm, and said they were delighted at the confidence shown by customers.

As part of the next stage of their recovery, which Schroeder described as promising, Luxair has announced new destinations, including Bordeaux (from 17 June), Marseille (28 June), Manchester (29 June), Salzburg and Innsbruck (4 July). LuxairTours’ offers are also set to expand, adding destinations in Bulgaria and Croatia in June, then Greece, Italy, Corsica, the Canary and Balearic Islands and mainland Spain in July. Schroeder explained the company was adding to its list as borders and tourism infrastructures reopen.

Luxair is also launching a special offer called “Lëtz Go!”, which will offer 110,000 seats on sale at just €99 for a round trip, as well as package tours from €499 per week, to 51 destinations.
