The government is set to meet with all three of the country’s major unions: OGBL, LCGB, and CGFP. The Union of Luxembourg Enterprises (UEL) will also be present at the meeting in Senningen Castle.
Indexation is expected to be one of the major talking points. The unions have already made clear in the run-up to the meeting that any manipulation of the mechanism will be considered unacceptable. Employers’ representatives on the other hand want to make sure that no more than one indexation will be completed this year.
So far, government officials have not suggested which direction the talks may go, but have emphasised that a decision can only be taken jointly.
