The project is split into local groups who organise different activities for refugees. The Differdange group, created in May 2018, has organised a number of activities to introduce refugees to Luxembourgish traditions.
The children involved in the group took part in Kleeschen activities and received presents, witnessed a Buergbrennen, and in the video report above (in Luxembourgish), decorate Easter eggs.
The group is cooking 300 eggs before letting around 30 children colour the eggs. Around ten adults were charged with building nests. The importance in this tradition is for refugees to be able to go and gift family members and friends with these colourful Easter eggs.
One volunteer expressed her surprise at how well some of the refugee children spoke Luxembourgish, showing the benefits of such activities.
The project mainly aims to provide refugees with activities that differ to everyday life and predominantly organises more of these activities during the school breaks.
