RTL Today
Jean Hoss, lawyer and banker who co-founded the law firm Elvinger Hoss Prussen in 1964, has passed away.

In an obituary, his family confirmed his death following the holiday season. Jean Hoss, together with André Elvinger, founded the law firm Elvinger Hoss Prussen in 1964, now one of the largest law firms alongside Arendt & Medernach.

As reported by the weekly newspaper ‘d’Land’ on Friday, Elvinger and Hoss achieved a milestone in 1968, enabling investment companies to benefit from the favourable holding regime. This, according to ‘d’Land’, laid the groundwork for Luxembourg’s fund industry.

Jean Hoss was not only a significant economic figure but also co-established the André Losch Foundation and was active in the cultural sector. Among other roles, he served as Vice President of both the Mudam and the Philharmonie. He was 87 years old.
