Army recruitmentLack of soldiers in Luxembourgish army

RTL Today
The Luxembourgish army is currently lacking 80 of 450 soldiers, pointing towards the need of new recruitment methods.

Psychological tests will be made a priority in the recruitment process and less focus will be put on academic skills.

Two measures will be put in place which will hopefully contribute to an increase in young people joining the army in particular. Whilst applications could only be put in three times a year, one can now sign up at any point throughout the year, according to David Lesch, president of the the professional association of Luxembourgish officers. Second, the written exam has been replaced by an exam testing candidates' cognitive and psychological abilities.
