The ''La Boum'' party took place for the first time in Melusina on Saturday evening. ''La Boum'' was organised by the Facebook group ''Luxembourg in the 80's & 90's 'Eis Generatioun' '', which was founded in November 2018 and has reached over 30 000 members so far.
Fun fact: ''La boum'' is a French word and means a musical and dance party organised by teenagers, often on the occasion of a birthday or the end of the school year. It was strongly connoted to the first love emotions and the sexual awakening of teenagers, especially in the 1960s and 1970s.

Two weeks after the group was founded, it counted over 8000 members.
The 80s and 90s were two wild decades, in terms of politics, music and culture. The Berlin wall fell, Dirty Dancing was released, Spice Girls taught the world about girl power and Take That and the Backstreet Boys stole millions of hearts.
