The automobilist was driving down Avenue John F. Kennedy in Kirchberg at around 5.55am when the car hit a lamp post. The driver continued without reporting the damage to police.
Police are looking for a black Audi A3 or S3, which will have suffered quite some damage following the accident. One of the windows would have been left shattered, they say.
