Police headquartersKalchesbruck police site to be expanded for €108 million

RTL Today
The police headquarters in Kalchesbruck is due to be expanded to the cost of €108 million.

The Grand Duke Henri police complex is based on Sandweiler's territory, but the first part of the complex has belonged to the state for the past four years. This year, the state plans to purchase a further part of the building.

Both complexes are connected via an underground floor level with the car park. The plan is for both buildings to become a larger police headquarters. Complex B, which is due to purchased this year, will be redeveloped with a new police laboratory, amongst other things.

The parliamentary commission on internal security examined the draft bill on the headquarters' expansion on Monday afternoon. Additionally, MPs forming the parliamentary commission discussed alternatives to the state purchasing an expensive office building, which included new buildings on land already belonging to the state or delocalising agencies outside the city's territory.
