Luxembourg - SaarlandJoint pandemic plan to be revealed at the end of the year

RTL Today
Minister of Health Paulette Lenert met up with the Minister of Health of the German federal state of Saarland, Monika Bachmann, on Tuesday.

The two ministers discussed the current Covid-19 situation in the border region between Luxembourg and Germany.

Since 14 July, Luxembourg has been classified as an "at-risk country" in Germany. This means for instance that residents from Luxembourg need a negative Covid-19 test in order to enter Saarland without having to go into quarantine.

Bachmann stressed that she intends to stand up for the Luxembourgish-German friendship especially in the current situation, and that it is important to have a continuous dialogue in order to reassess the situation regularly.

A joint pandemic plan, which is intended to apply transnationally, is expected to be available towards the end of the year.
