
In her letter of resignation, the LSAP politician justifies her decision with health problems that prevent her from continuing to fulfil her mandate. She said she wanted to ‘hand over her mandate to a motivated team who were in full possession of their strength’, while she wants to remain active in municipal politics as a councillor.
The LSAP politician has proposed the first alderman Claude Mousel (DP) as her successor. In her letter, she asks the Sandweiler municipal council to nominate him as the new mayor.
There is to be a change of leadership in Sandweiler in September anyway, after the LSAP and DP agreed on a split after the last municipal elections in 2023 and had already stated that Mousel would take over from Breuer after two years.
