While 30-year-old Golinska and 25-year-old Molitor will share their duties as co-presidents of the junior party, 26-year-old Maurice Schwarz is set to take over as secretary general.
“I am certain that Max and I will bring new vitality to the Young Socialists. It is important to give the socialist youth a strong voice, politics is about the world in which we live tomorrow”, said Golinska after being confirmed as president.
Molitor also commented on their new role, particularly in the context of an election year: “It is important that young people have a place in politics, not only to be heard, but also to help decide. We are not handed these places, we need to work and fight for them, and that is what we’ll do.”
The new members of the Young Socialists’ national bureau and control commission were all voted in unanimously.
