Inspectorate of Labour and MinesITM recorded 2,400 fines from 10,000 checks in 2022

RTL Today
On Thursday afternoon, the Inspectorate of Labour and Mines published its annual report for 2022.

“The ITM is much more than an administration that controls and punishes,” emphasised the director of the ITM, Marco Boly, who was accompanied by the Minister of Labour Georges Engel at a press conference on Thursday afternoon.

Health and safety in the workplace, for example, form key pillars of the work carried out by the ITM. In 2022, some 10,000 checks were carried out, with around 2,400 cases resulting in fines amounting to a total of 10.5 million euros.

Boly added that he hoped the labour minister would submit a bill concerning occupational health to the Chamber prior to the next elections.

A meeting is due to take place with the social partners on Friday to discuss the direction to take.
