The Luxembourg prosecutor’s office announced on Monday that an investigation has been opened into a violent altercation outside a discotheque in Limpertsberg on Sunday. The investigation is focusing on charges of manslaughter or intentional assault and battery.

The incident occurred early Sunday morning at around 4.45am, during which three individuals were injured with a knife and required hospitalisation. The two alleged attackers fled the scene but were apprehended by police within hours.

The suspects, both professional basketball players, were presented to the investigating judge on Monday. A 27-year-old man has been placed in custody, while a 24-year-old man is under judicial supervision.

According to the prosecutor’s office, none of the victims are in life-threatening condition. However, the prognosis for their recovery has not yet been confirmed.

The prosecutor’s office has requested the initiation of a judicial investigation into attempted murder or, alternatively, intentional assault causing injury.

The investigation remains ongoing, and the prosecutor’s office has reminded the public that all individuals targeted by criminal proceedings are presumed innocent until proven guilty by a court of law.
