Three people were injured in a stabbing early Sunday morning around 5am in Limpertsberg, police have confirmed.
Upon arrival at the scene, officers discovered that two individuals had sustained stab wounds, while a third person suffered a hand injury while attempting to intervene.
The suspects had already fled, but following a brief search operation, police arrested two alleged attackers in Christnach, in eastern Luxembourg. They were reportedly identified through photos and videos taken during the altercation in Luxembourg City.
According to RTL sources, the suspects are professional basketball players competing in Luxembourg’s first division: Londell King (Heffingen) and Leon Ayer (Résidence Walfer). Ayer is currently the league’s top scorer, averaging 31 points per game.
The public prosecutor’s office has ordered their arrest, and both were presented before an investigating judge on Sunday.
