Taking the effect of winter sales out of the calculation, the price index fell by 0.2% compared to the previous month. The inflation rate, compared to February 2019, was 1.7%, also experiencing a 0.2% drop.
The cause of the downward shift is that fuel prices have dropped significantly within the last month: the cost of diesel has gone down by 5.6%, petrol by 3%, and heating oil by nearly 12%.
