StatecInflation experienced a 0.2% increase in July

Petrol and travelling have become more expensive, while the prices for clothes and fresh vegetables are dropping.

Statec issued a statement on Wednesday conveying the most recent numbers surrounding price rates in Luxembourg. The general inflation rate has risen from 0.7 to 0.9%.

In comparison to the previous month, there was a slight decline in price rates in July, which can be linked to the annual sales period.

Paired with the effects from rising petrol prices, the situation has lead to a 0.1& increase in the inflation rate of the remaining goods and services.

Covid-19 related repercussions only affected a minor part of July's price rates. The tourism sector has notably increased rates, especially on flight tickets and travels.

Meanwhile, the prices of fresh vegetables, clothes, and shoes have dropped.
