Covid in schools Infections in schools rise for second week running

From 5 to 11 July 226 new Covid cases were detected in primary and secondary schools across Luxembourg.

The week prior saw 165 cases, according to the latest update published by the Ministry of Education.

The majority of cases (164) belonged to scenario 1, that is, just a single case per class, without spreading to the rest of the school. 46 primary schools and 35 secondary schools were affected.

Scenario 2 saw 36 cases last week, in 10 primary schools and 11 secondary schools.

26 cases were detected in scenario 3, across four primary schools and eight secondary schools. This scenario represents between 3 and 5 cases per class.

There were no scenario 4 clusters detected in any of the Grand Duchy's schools.
