Police and emergency services discovered the car at around 11.40 pm on Wednesday evening, at the A4 exit for Foetz. The driver had crossed the safety barriers and crashed the vehicle into the bushes on the side of the road.
The emergency teams found the man lying next to his vehicle. He was only slightly injured, still conscious and was taken to hospital after receiving first aid on site.
After a positive blood alcohol test, the man's license was revoked and he was given a caution.
