No licenses were seized during a large-scale alcohol check in Bridel and Bertrange, but three unrelated incidents resulted in apprehensions.

A large-scale alcohol control operation took place between 11pm and 12.30am in Bridel, and from 1.30am to 3am in Bertrange. Ordered by the public prosecutor’s office, the operation checked 97 drivers, two of whom were found to be over the legal alcohol limit. However, no licenses were confiscated during these checks.

In contrast, several individual incidents did lead to action. On the A6, a driver was stopped for traveling slowly toward Belgium. A police check revealed the driver was over the alcohol limit. In another case, a patrol noticed a car with a heavily damaged bumper in Avenue de la Liberté in Luxembourg City. The vehicle was being driven erratically, prompting a stop. The driver also tested significantly above the legal alcohol limit.

At around 8pm, police were called to a crash on the A7 at the Mierscherbierg exit. It remains unclear why the driver lost control and veered off the road. The car came to rest on its side on the ramp to the A7. Two people were injured and taken to hospital. The driver had to surrender his license after testing positive for both alcohol and drugs.
