With movement strictly limited and gatherings forbidden, targeted controls will be carried out throughout the entire country. Public places, pedestrian zones as well as streets will be continually controlled over the weekend.

Police also reiterated that all gatherings (parties, meetings, or other sorts of get-togethers) at private properties are also prohibited. The police will take every report in this regard very seriously. Families and people living together under the same roof are of course not affected by these restrictions.

In the case of infringement or non-respect of the instructions, culprits risk a fine of €145 euros, which may be doubled if not paid within 30 days.

Police officers will also focus on economic activities and check shops, cafés, restaurants, and construction sites. The law stipulates fines of up to €4,000 euros as well as administrative closures.

Police are thus reminding people to stay at home unless unless strictly necessary. Exceptions apply for going grocery shopping, visiting a doctor or a pharmacy as well as getting some fresh air within reason.

Keep a distance of at least two metres to people you do not live with (even friends or acquaintances).

Even if public transport has significantly decreased at the moment, the police have planned traffic controls during the entirety of the weekend as well as during the Easter holidays.

With movement being strictly limited to absolutely necessary travel, going on holiday is therefore formally prohibited.
