Over the last week, the number of new infections jumped up to 1,900, compared to 1,100 the previous week.

Three more people succumbed to the virus between 30 May and 5 June, with an average age of 86.

However, the number of hospitalisations remains both low and stable, with three people currently receiving treatment for coronavirus in regular care, down from six the previous week. One person is currently in intensive care.

Cases continue to be more frequent among family and friends, followed by international travel and leisure activities.

As of 5 June, Luxembourg has administered 1,283,132 doses of the vaccine, with 78.8% of the population aged 5 and over now fully vaccinated against the virus.
