Prime Minister Xavier Bettel and Minister of Health Paulette Lenert are expected to announce on Wednesday afternoon that Covid-19 restrictions will be eased further.

According to information obtained by RTL, the hospitality sector will be fully reopened, including indoor seating areas. Rapid tests will be used as a safety measure here.

Cafés and restaurants will also be allowed to remain open until 10pm and four people will be allowed to sit at a table.

The start of the curfew will be pushed from 11pm to midnight.

The rules for welcoming guests at home will also be changed. One household will be allowed to host a total of four guests at home, instead of two.

Regarding vaccinations, the government plans to significantly step up the speed of its campaign. Over the upcoming days over 50,000 people are to be vaccinated, including over 30,000 with the AstraZeneca vaccine.

All of this information has not yet been officially confirmed.

At 4 pm, Prime Minister Xavier Bettel and Minister of Health Paulette Lenert will hold a press briefing.
