According to the police report, the driver who caused the crash fled the scene in the direction of Kayl. Officers were later able to locate the vehicle, but the driver ran away on foot when approached by police.
The man was later apprehended following a search with a canine unit. Further investigation revealed that the man did not possess a valid driving licence and his car was not insured. He also yielded a positive drug test.
The public prosecutor’s office ordered the seizure of the vehicle and drew up a complaint against the driver.
