An accident on Thursday morning at around 11am caused severe disruption on the A1 motorway around Luxembourg City, bringing traffic to a standstill for nearly three hours.
The incident, which occurred near the Cents tunnel, resulted in the closure of the motorway in the direction of Germany, between the tunnel and the Irrgarten roundabout, close to Sandweiler and Kirchberg.
According to initial reports, two lorries and two cars were involved in the collision. The traffic monitoring centre confirmed the road closure and advised motorists to seek alternative routes.
