At 11 am, CFL reported the suspension of trains on the northern line due to intervention of the police at Michelau station.
The police have confirmed to RTL that a grenade was discovered on a nearby construction site.
The work was immediately halted and the bomb disposal team were called on site.
No trains are operating between Ettelbruck and Goebelsmuhle.
Shuttle buses have been set up by the CFL in the meantime.
